Oxytocin is one of the few peptides most people can already name, the “bonding hormone.” It is a short chain of just nine amino acids produced in the hypothalamus, and it holds a real place in scientific history: it was the first peptide hormone ever synthesised in a laboratory (1953), work that earned a Nobel Prize. What it is famous for is exactly what the research examines: its role in trust, social connection and emotional balance.<\/p>\n
Intranasal is the format the oxytocin literature actually uses: most published studies deliver it as a nasal solution, because the nasal lining offers a direct route and rapid absorption.<\/p>\n
Two sizes, one strength: the 2 mg bottle holds 2 mg (2,000 mcg) of oxytocin in 5 mL of saline, about 29 sprays, and the 4 mg bottle holds 4 mg (4,000 mcg) in 10 mL of saline, about 57 sprays. Both are 400 mcg per mL, so each spray delivers approximately 70 mcg. Arrives pre-mixed in a sealed metered atomiser: no reconstitution and no bacteriostatic water needed.<\/p>\n
