What has research on each peptide found?
- Bladder pain, 2024. In a pilot study of 12 women with interstitial cystitis, none of whom had responded to a standard prescription medicine, 10 reported complete resolution of symptoms after a single procedure with BPC-157, and the other 2 rated their improvement at 80%. No adverse events were reported.
- Intravenous safety, 2025. In a two-person pilot, BPC-157 infusions on consecutive days produced no measurable change in markers of heart, liver, kidney or thyroid function or in blood glucose, and no side effects were reported.
- The nasal lining, 1997. In early-stage laboratory research, BPC-157 given beforehand reduced mast-cell and inflammatory-cell build-up in the nasal lining after exposure to capsaicin, the irritant in chilli peppers.
On the TB-500 side, a 2012 review describes thymosin beta-4 binding actin, promoting cell migration and lowering the number of myofibroblasts in wounds, which the authors link to less scarring. The nasal format has not yet been the subject of a published human study.
