Buy Oxytocin in Canada: Vial and Nasal Spray
You can buy oxytocin in Canada from Vistara Labs in two formats: a 2 mg lyophilised vial, and a ready-mixed nasal spray in 2 mg and 4 mg bottles, all shipped from within Canada by Canada Post Xpresspost. Oxytocin is one of the few peptides with both a long clinical history and a large human research record, and most of that research delivers it as a nasal spray. This guide covers what it is, what the studies found, which format suits which work and how to buy oxytocin Canada-wide.
View product →At a glance: Vistara Labs stocks oxytocin as a 2 mg vial and as a ready-mixed nasal spray (2 mg in 5 mL or 4 mg in 10 mL), independently tested at 99.2% purity, with a certificate of analysis on our Lab Reports page, shipped from within Canada by Canada Post Xpresspost, with same-business-day dispatch on orders placed before 3 pm Pacific, Monday to Friday. What is oxytocin?
Oxytocin is a nine-amino-acid peptide, Cys-Tyr-Ile-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2, closed into a ring by a disulfide bridge between its two cysteines. It is made mainly in the hypothalamus, released into the blood from the posterior pituitary, and acts on a single receptor. Its classic roles are uterine contraction in labour and milk let-down, and it was the first peptide hormone made in a laboratory, work recognised with the 1955 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Vial or nasal spray?
| Product | What is in it | Ready to use? |
|---|---|---|
| Oxytocin vial | 2 mg, lyophilised powder | After reconstitution |
| Oxytocin Nasal Spray, 2 mg | 2 mg in 5 mL, about 29 sprays | Yes, pre-mixed |
| Oxytocin Nasal Spray, 4 mg | 4 mg in 10 mL, about 57 sprays | Yes, pre-mixed |
Both spray sizes hold 400 mcg per mL, which works out to about 70 mcg per spray. They arrive pre-mixed in saline in a sealed metered atomiser, so there is no reconstitution step and no bacteriostatic water to buy. The vial is lyophilised and is reconstituted with bacteriostatic water; the oxytocin reconstitution guide covers the arithmetic. The 2 mg spray also sits in the Libido Spray Stack alongside the PT-141 Nasal Spray.
What has oxytocin nasal spray research shown?
- Trust, 2005. In a study published in Nature, intranasal oxytocin caused a substantial increase in trust between people, and the effect was not explained by a general readiness to take risks.
- Emotion recognition, 2010. In a double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled crossover study of 16 males aged 12 to 19 with autism spectrum disorders, oxytocin nasal spray improved performance on the Reading the Mind in the Eyes test.
- Reaching the spinal fluid, 2013. In 15 adults (11 given oxytocin, 4 placebo), nasal oxytocin raised levels in both blood and cerebrospinal fluid. Blood levels peaked at 15 minutes, while spinal fluid levels took up to 75 minutes to rise significantly.
- Appetite and metabolism, 2015. In a randomised, placebo-controlled crossover study of 25 men, a single intranasal administration reduced the calories eaten at a test meal, with a preferential effect on fat intake, shifted fuel use from carbohydrate toward fat and improved insulin sensitivity.
- Six weeks of use, 2020. In a randomised, double-blind trial of 106 adults with autism, nasal oxytocin reduced repetitive behaviour and increased gaze on socially relevant regions compared with placebo; the primary social-reciprocity score improved in both groups alike.

Frequently asked questions
How much oxytocin is in each spray?
Both sizes hold 400 mcg per mL, so each spray contains about 70 mcg. The 2 mg bottle (5 mL) gives about 29 sprays and the 4 mg bottle (10 mL) about 57.
Does the oxytocin nasal spray need mixing?
No. It arrives pre-mixed in a sealed metered atomiser. Only the 2 mg lyophilised vial is reconstituted, with bacteriostatic water.
What has oxytocin nasal spray research shown?
Published studies reported increased trust between people (Nature, 2005), better emotion-recognition scores in young people with autism (2010), oxytocin reaching the cerebrospinal fluid after a nasal administration (2013), and fewer calories eaten at a test meal with improved insulin sensitivity in men (2015).
Which stack includes the oxytocin spray?
The Libido Spray Stack pairs the 2 mg Oxytocin Nasal Spray with the PT-141 Nasal Spray, both ready-mixed in metered atomisers.
