Glutathione 1500 mg research vial

Buy Glutathione in Canada: 600 mg and 1500 mg Vials

You can buy glutathione in Canada from Vistara Labs in 600 mg and 1500 mg lyophilised vials, tested at 99.8% purity and shipped from within Canada by Canada Post Xpresspost. Glutathione is the most abundant antioxidant the body makes, and unlike most of a peptide catalogue it has been through several randomised, placebo-controlled human trials. This guide covers what glutathione is, what those trials found and how to buy glutathione Canada-wide.

What is glutathione?

Glutathione is a tripeptide, three amino acids long: glutamate, cysteine and glycine, with the glutamate joined through its side chain rather than the usual peptide bond. Its active part is the sulfur group on cysteine, which donates electrons to neutralise reactive oxygen species and is then recycled. Cells hold it in two forms, reduced (GSH) and oxidised (GSSG), and the ratio between the two is a standard measure of oxidative stress.

Because it is a short chain of amino acids, glutathione sits naturally in a peptide catalogue. In our shop it is listed under antioxidant research, and it is the redox component of the Mitochondrial Energy stack, alongside SS-31 and MOTS-c.

What has glutathione research shown?

  • Body stores, 2015. In a 6-month randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 54 non-smoking adults, oral glutathione raised glutathione in blood at 1, 3 and 6 months at both amounts tested. At 6 months the higher-amount group showed rises of 30 to 35% in red blood cells, plasma and lymphocytes and 260% in cheek cells. The ratio of oxidised to reduced glutathione fell, a sign of lower oxidative stress, and natural killer cell activity more than doubled against placebo at 3 months. Levels returned to baseline after a one-month washout.
  • Skin pigment, 2012. In a 4-week randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 60 medical students, melanin indices fell at all six measured sites with oral glutathione, significantly more than with placebo on the right side of the face and the sun-exposed left forearm. UV-spot counts followed the same pattern, and both glutathione and placebo were very well tolerated.
  • Skin properties, 2017. In a 12-week randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in women, both the reduced and oxidised forms tended to lower melanin index and UV spots against placebo, the reduced form significantly reduced wrinkles at some sites, and there were no serious adverse effects.

These trials used oral glutathione; the vial sold here is a lyophilised laboratory material. Our article Glutathione: the research behind the antioxidant reads the first two trials in more detail.

Glutathione sizes and handling

  • Two sizes. 600 mg and 1500 mg vials, each sold singly or in packs of ten.
  • A lyophilised powder. Glutathione ships freeze-dried, the form that keeps it stable through shipping and storage until it is reconstituted.
  • Purity. 99.8% in independent third-party testing, with the laboratory’s own certificate on our Lab Reports page.
  • Reconstitution. These vials hold far more material than a typical 10 mg peptide vial, so the water volumes differ; the glutathione reconstitution guide covers both sizes, and the peptide calculator works out any other volume.
  • Storage. Unopened vials keep best cold, dry and away from light, and a reconstituted vial is kept refrigerated.

Where to buy glutathione in Canada

  • No customs step. Every order ships from within Canada, so the vial travels as an ordinary domestic parcel.
  • Same-day dispatch. Orders placed before 3 pm Pacific, Monday to Friday, leave the same business day by tracked Canada Post Xpresspost.
  • Related antioxidant and energy research. NAD+ is the other large-mass compound in our cellular-energy range, and MOTS-c vs SS-31 compares the two mitochondrial peptides in the stack.

Vistara Labs supplies Glutathione in 600 mg and 1500 mg vials for laboratory research use only, shipped from within Canada to every province.

Frequently asked questions

Is glutathione a peptide?

Yes, a tripeptide. It is three amino acids long, glutamate, cysteine and glycine, and its sulfur-bearing cysteine is what makes it an antioxidant.

What has glutathione research shown?

In a 6-month randomised trial of 54 adults, oral glutathione raised body stores, by 30 to 35% in red blood cells, plasma and lymphocytes at the higher amount, and natural killer cell activity more than doubled against placebo. A 4-week trial of 60 people found lower melanin indices at all six skin sites measured.

What sizes does glutathione come in?

Two vial sizes, 600 mg and 1500 mg, each sold singly or in packs of ten.

How is glutathione supplied?

As a lyophilised powder in a sealed vial, tested at 99.8% purity and reconstituted with bacteriostatic water.

Glutathione has several human trials. Skin findings are endpoint-specific and a systematic review judged the overall evidence inconclusive; an intravenous Parkinson's pilot found no significant benefit.
