What has research on Selank and Semax found?
- Semax and stroke, 2018. In 110 patients after ischaemic stroke, Semax raised plasma BDNF, which stayed elevated through the whole study period. Semax and higher BDNF levels accelerated improvement and produced better final scores on the Barthel index, a measure of everyday independence.
- Intranasal Semax and brain networks, 2018. In a resting-state fMRI study of 24 adult volunteers, 14 received intranasal Semax and 10 a placebo. Scans 5 and 20 minutes later showed a greater volume of the rostral, medial frontal part of the default mode network in the Semax group.
- Selank and anxiety, 2008. Sixty-two patients with generalised anxiety disorder and neurasthenia received Selank (30) or the benzodiazepine medazepam (32). The anti-anxiety effects were similar, and Selank also showed an anti-fatigue effect.
