How Long Does CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin Last? Storage Guide

The CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin blend keeps longest as sealed, dry powder in the cold; once mixed with bacteriostatic water it lasts 8 to 12 weeks at 2 to 8 °C under Vistara Labs’ handling guidance, with quality slowly fading from around week 6 to 8. No published or manufacturer stability figure exists for the mixed blend, so that window is the general peptide guidance. A mixed vial is kept dark and never frozen, and the ready-mixed nasal spray follows the spray storage rules.

Findings

  • Two different molecules share the vial: CJC-1295, a modified 29-residue fragment of growth hormone releasing factor, and ipamorelin, a five-residue growth hormone secretagogue (Jetté et al., Endocrinology, 2005; Raun et al., Eur J Endocrinol, 1998).
  • Ipamorelin’s sequence, Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, contains none of the residues most prone to oxidation or deamidation, and two of its five residues are D-amino acids.
  • A chemical supplier rates solid ipamorelin at at least 4 years at −20 °C (Cayman Chemical).
  • Our blend is the no-DAC form, without the albumin-binding group that gave CJC-1295 a 5.8 to 8.1 day half-life in a 2006 human study (Teichman et al., J Clin Endocrinol Metab).

How long does CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin powder last?

Sealed and dry, both peptides are stable for long periods. Cayman Chemical supplies ipamorelin acetate as a solid stored at −20 °C with a stated stability of at least 4 years; no comparable supplier rating was found for the no-DAC CJC-1295 fragment. The 10 mg blend vial is kept boxed in the fridge for near-term work or in the freezer for longer holds, and brought to room temperature before the cap is removed so that moisture does not condense on the powder.

How long does CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin last after mixing?

Mixed and kept at 2 to 8 °C in the dark, the blend lasts 8 to 12 weeks, with quality fading from around week 6 to 8. That is the row it occupies in how long peptides last after mixing. The CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin reconstitution page has the calculator for water volume and concentration.

Which half of the blend is the weaker link?

Probably the CJC-1295 half. Ipamorelin is short and built from protected residues: aminoisobutyric acid at the front, two D-amino acids in the middle and an amidated end, with no methionine, cysteine, asparagine or glutamine, the residues behind the main oxidation and deamidation reactions in solution (Manning et al., Pharm Res, 2010). The CJC-1295 chain is a longer piece of growth hormone releasing factor, the peptide family in which a 1991 study traced breakdown in neutral solution to asparagine deamidation (Friedman et al., Int J Pept Protein Res). CJC-1295 was designed as a tetrasubstituted version of that fragment (Jetté et al., 2005); whether those substitutions lengthen its life in a vial has not been published.

Why not a week, like tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin carries the full 44-residue native sequence, and its approved formulation is discarded 7 days after mixing. CJC-1295 is a shorter, modified chain with no approved product and no published solution-stability figure, so it takes the general window rather than tesamorelin’s. That is store guidance, not a measured shelf life, and the visual checks below apply throughout.

How long does it last at room temperature?

There is no published room-temperature figure for the mixed blend. The guidance is that a mixed vial leaves the fridge only for handling. Native growth hormone releasing hormone gives a sense of how quickly unprotected members of this family can be broken down by enzymes: in human plasma, intact GRH(1-44) disappeared with a half-life of 17 minutes (Frohman et al., J Clin Invest, 1986). Bacteriostatic water’s benzyl alcohol limits microbial growth, not chemical change, and warmth speeds both.

Can CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin be frozen?

The powder, yes. A mixed working vial, no: freeze-thaw cycles aggregate peptides in solution. Laboratories needing a longer hold freeze single-use aliquots once.

How can you tell the mixed blend has degraded?

  • Cloudiness that lasts beyond the first 10 to 15 minutes after mixing.
  • Particles, strands or sediment.
  • Yellowing or any tint; the mixed blend should be clear and colourless.
  • Gel or thickening (see why peptides gel or go cloudy).

The nasal spray version

The CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin Nasal Spray arrives ready-mixed in a sealed metered pump that delivers 0.175 mL per press, so there is no reconstitution step and no mixing date to start. Because it is already a solution, it is kept cold and upright with the cap on, and the rules are in how to store a peptide nasal spray. The number of presses per bottle is covered in how many sprays are in a peptide nasal spray.

Travelling with CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin

Sealed powder vials travel most easily. A mixed vial or the spray goes in an insulated case with a cold pack that does not touch the glass or bottle; the peptide travel case fits both.

Frequently asked questions

How long does CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin last in the fridge after mixing?

Under Vistara Labs’ handling guidance, 8 to 12 weeks at 2 to 8 °C in the dark, with quality fading from around week 6 to 8.

How long does CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin last at room temperature?

No published figure exists for the mixed blend at room temperature. A mixed vial is kept in the fridge and taken out only for handling.

Can you freeze CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin?

The dry powder can be stored frozen. A mixed working vial should not be frozen, because freeze-thaw cycles aggregate peptides in solution.

Does CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin go bad?

Yes, slowly once mixed, with the CJC-1295 half the likelier to change first. Lasting cloudiness, particles, colour or gel mean it has degraded.

How long do CJC-1295 and ipamorelin last in the body?

Ipamorelin had a terminal half-life of about 2 hours in healthy volunteers (Gobburu et al., Pharm Res, 1999). The 5.8 to 8.1 day half-life often quoted for CJC-1295 belongs to the DAC form, not the no-DAC form in this blend.
