Peptides for Injury Recovery: What the Research Shows
Peptides for injury recovery have their clearest human data in BPC-157 and thymosin beta-4, the repair protein TB-500 is derived from: in a 2021 clinic review, 14 of 16 knee-pain patients reported relief after BPC-157, and in a 2015 phase 2 trial, thymosin beta-4 eye drops cut ocular discomfort by 35.1% against a placebo solution. GHK-Cu adds a placebo-controlled wound trial, and KPV adds anti-inflammatory laboratory research. Each is summarised below, with links to the full write-ups and the Repair & Recovery stacks.

What has BPC-157 research shown for injury recovery?
BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide derived from gastric proteins. A 2025 systematic review of 36 studies found that, in early-stage laboratory research, it improved functional, structural and biomechanical outcomes in muscle, tendon, ligament and bone injury models (HSS J). The three human reports share a first author:
- 2021, knee pain. A retrospective chart review at a primary-care clinic in Orlando followed up 16 patients who had BPC-157 given into the knee joint for several types of knee pain. Eleven of 12 given BPC-157 alone reported significant improvement, as did 3 of 4 who also received thymosin beta-4: 14 of 16, or 87.5%, overall. The full study is in BPC-157 and TB-500 for knee pain.
- 2024, bladder pain. Twelve women aged 39 to 76 with moderate to severe interstitial cystitis, none of whom had responded to the approved drug pentosan polysulfate, received BPC-157 around the inflamed area of the bladder during a single cystoscopy. Ten reported complete resolution and rated their success at 100%, the other two rated it at 80%, and there were no dropouts or adverse events. More in BPC-157 for bladder pain and interstitial cystitis.
- 2025, safety. Two adults received intravenous BPC-157 on consecutive days with no measurable effect on heart, liver, kidney, thyroid or blood glucose markers, and no side effects reported.
A 2026 review with pain-medicine authors from Johns Hopkins describes these three pilots as pointing to potential value, with no major adverse effects reported. BPC-157 comes as a lyophilised vial and as the ready-mixed BPC-157 Nasal Spray (10 mg in 5 mL).

What did the thymosin beta-4 trials find?
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide derived from thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid repair protein that platelets release at the site of an injury. Thymosin beta-4 itself has phase 2 trial data:
- Severe dry eye, 2015. In a randomised, double-masked, placebo-controlled trial in nine patients, eyes given thymosin beta-4 drops had 35.1% less ocular discomfort and 59.1% less corneal staining than the placebo solution at day 56, four weeks after the drops stopped (Cornea).
- Dry eye, 72 people, 2015. Discomfort during a controlled adverse environment challenge was 27% lower than placebo at day 28, and central and superior corneal staining improved, with no adverse events; the primary endpoints at day 29 did not differ significantly (Clin Ophthalmol).
- Corneal defects, 2010. Nine patients aged 37 to 84 with chronic neurotrophic corneal defects used thymosin beta-4 eye drops on a compassionate basis. The six with geographic defects showed dramatic repair, and all reported less irritation soon after starting.
- Venous ulcers, 2010. A double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 2 trial randomised 73 patients at eight sites in Italy and Poland. Safety was comparable to placebo, and the authors report complete wound closure within three months in about 25% of patients, especially those with small to moderate wounds. A 2012 review of this and a pressure ulcer trial reports that wounds which closed did so almost a month sooner.
In early-stage laboratory research, thymosin beta-4 increased re-epithelialisation by 42% at day 4 and up to 61% at day 7, with more collagen deposition and new blood vessel growth (J Invest Dermatol, 1999). TB-500 comes as a vial and as the TB-500 Nasal Spray (10 mg in 5 mL); the trial record is in TB-500 and thymosin beta-4: the repair research.

Why are BPC-157 and TB-500 combined?
Their research covers different parts of repair. BPC-157’s laboratory profile centres on new blood vessel growth, collagen synthesis and fibroblast activity; thymosin beta-4’s on cell migration, new blood vessels and damping inflammation. The knee review is the one human report of the pairing, with 3 of 4 patients given both reporting significant improvement. The BPC-157 + TB-500 vial combines them, and the BPC-157 + TB-500 Nasal Spray holds 10 mg of each in 10 mL. The Wolverine Stack (also called the Healing Blend) covers the pairing in depth.
Where do GHK-Cu, GLOW and KLOW fit?
GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide first isolated from human plasma. In a multicentre, randomised, evaluator-blinded, placebo-controlled trial in diabetic neuropathic foot ulcers, a GHK-Cu gel used alongside standard wound care raised median ulcer closure to 98.5% against 60.8% on vehicle (p < 0.05) and closed ulcers three times faster. In larger ulcers, median closure was 89.2% against minus 10.3%, and when the gel was started right after debridement, infections fell to 7% against 34% (Wound Repair Regen, 1994). In early-stage laboratory research, GHK-Cu stimulated collagen synthesis by fibroblasts, peaking at one nanomolar (FEBS Lett, 1988).
The GLOW Blend combines 50 mg GHK-Cu, 10 mg BPC-157 and 10 mg TB-500 in one vial, and the KLOW Blend adds 10 mg KPV. Both also come ready-mixed as the GLOW Nasal Spray and KLOW Nasal Spray. KLOW vs GLOW explains the choice.

What has KPV research shown on inflammation?
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is the last three amino acids of alpha-MSH. A 2008 review describes it as keeping the parent hormone’s anti-inflammatory activity without its effect on pigment, and lists inflammatory skin and bowel disease, fibrosis and arthritis among its research directions (Endocr Rev). In human intestinal and immune cells, nanomolar KPV inhibited the NF-kB and MAP kinase inflammatory pathways and lowered pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion, and given orally it reduced inflammation in two colitis models (Gastroenterology, 2008). The published work to date is early-stage laboratory research. KPV comes as a vial and as the KPV Nasal Spray.

The Repair & Recovery stacks, sprays and vials
The Repair & Recovery stack pairs the BPC-157 + TB-500 vial with KPV. The Repair & Recovery Spray Stack does the same ready-mixed: the BPC-157 + TB-500 Nasal Spray (20 mg in 10 mL) and the KPV Nasal Spray (10 mg in 5 mL), in sterile saline with metered pumps. Vials are reconstituted with bacteriostatic water (the peptide calculator does the arithmetic). Orders ship from within Canada by Canada Post Xpresspost, with certificates of analysis on the lab reports page.
BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, KPV and the blends are supplied for laboratory research use only. More repair research is collected in our research notes.
